1st blog birthday!

My blog is 1 year old today! Blogging has turned out to be even more fun than I anticipated. I have made some lovely blogger friends too. When I first started, I was worried I’d run out of ideas… but as you can see, I worried needlessly. Here’s a timeline of my blog history:

2018

JulyI join Twitter and then research how to start a blog.

August – I start my blog! I publish my first post on August 2nd. My first book review is published on the 11th.

September – I begin my ‘recommended authors’ series with Daphne du Maurier. I am also approved for my first ARC on NetGalley.

October – I celebrate my birthday with a top 30 books post. I write a Halloween post.

November – My first time-travel adventure. I publish one of my most popular blog posts yet.

December – I reach 1000 email subscribers, take part in my first blog tour and write a Christmas post.

2019

January – I reach 1000 likes on my blog posts! I join Instagram. I write my first film review and also my first TV review. I start talking about those awkward moments in life.

February – I celebrate Valentine’s Day in an alternative way. My most popular book review yet is published. I also start rounding up some brilliant blog posts for each month.

March – I begin a new series about free information resources (once a librarian, always a librarian…)

April – I publish my 100th blog post! I also take part in the first of the huge blog tours organised by the Write Reads. I celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday and I tell you how I write my book reviews.

May – The classics battle it out and I start a character of the month series. The blog encounters a technical error which means that 9 days’ worth of content and comments are lost.

June – I present a summer horror story and begin my ordinary people series.

July – I look at fictional transport and review one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read. I discuss where I get my books from. This month I also switch hosting provider and migrate my site over. I add a page for my most highly recommended books.

Thank you very much to everyone who has subscribed, liked, commented and shared. I am really enjoying this blogging lark. You can expect more of the same in the next year – books, books and more books. Plus a sprinkling of writing and random stuff.

    1. Thanks! I’m not sure what changes I’ll make… possibly move the book reviews on to their own page. Nothing dramatic.

    1. Thank you! ♥ I have blogged before (in a workplace context) and I liked it a lot, so that’s one reason I started my own.
You’re a newbie, really? You seem like an experienced blogger to me 😀
