4 exciting upcoming books I have from NetGalley

I usually restrict myself to one or two books at a time from NetGalley (a website where reviewers can get hold of digital ARCs of new books), but there are some exciting new publications coming up which I have been approved for review copies. Currently I have these four:

The Cautious Traveller’s Guide to the Wastelands by Sarah Brooks. There is a lot of hype for this book, but it did sound intriguing. I’m halfway through and enjoying it! The marketing mentions Piranesi but fortunately they have little in common.

The House of Mirrors by Erin Kelly. I have enjoyed this author’s books, including The Sick Rose, He Said / She Said and Watch Her Fall. The exception was The Skeleton Key, which I had an ARC of and did not finish.

Close to Death by Anthony Horowitz. This is the 5th book in the Hawthorne series (which began with The Word is Murder), in which the author is the main character. I have found the series variable but am interested to find out how it develops.

The Household by Stacey Halls. I enjoyed her previous book Mrs England and this new book seems to have a similar atmosphere, so I think I’ll like it. I don’t often read historical fiction, but when I do, Victorian era settings are one of the most appealing.

I have requested the new book from Sonia Velton, The Nightingale’s Castle. I hope I get to read it, because I thought her previous books, Blackberry & Wild Rose and The Image of Her, were marvellous.

Will you be reading any of these upcoming releases?
