I wasn’t expecting to love it so I was cautious anyway… although I’ve seen very few less than positive reviews! I’m sure it’s a great achievement, really was not my kind of read.

Thank you for reading 🙂 I often find that prizewinning books are not to my taste, obviously I don’t like the same books as the critics do! But it can be interesting to read them to try and understand what others like about the book. Yes, I think you have to try Hamnet for yourself 🙂

Yes! I’m glad there are at least two of us. I have to admit I knew it might not be my kind of read but I wanted to try it anyway.

Thanks! The over-writing was the most annoying thing about this book and I don’t remember it being a particular problem for me with the others of hers I’ve read.
