I read this book a few times and it’s been published by many different publishers in different languages . It’s got a top rating of 4.7 in Amazon which is the highest any gets . It’s quite profound and easily the best book I have read . Not for the simple read but it provides answers to the important questions in life . No wonder Amazon reprinted it due to demand . Brilliant really .

Guterson is always dense; somehow I like that. Odd if fun, too!

I haven't heard of this book but it sounds like a similar concept - I just looked it up and think the writing style is not for me, however. Thanks for your comment - Sati is an odd book but if you are looking for a short read which raises more questions than it answers, it's one for your list :)

Sounds interesting. Not long ago I read Our Lady of the Forest by David Guterson, which was about a young woman who sees a vision of Mary, Mother of God, and the reader (and the characters) have to decide whether she's ill or addled and maybe just hallucinated it, or if it really happened. I do enjoy spiritually questioning books--thanks for the recommendation!
