Thanks for your comment! I really must re-read Cold Comfort. I know her other novels are not of the same originality or literary standard, but I do find them to be entertaining and also evocative of the times.

Indeed! She’s to everyone’s taste, but it’s worth trying at least 1 of her novels.

Sadly her other work pales in comparison, but who cares, she gave us Cold Comfort. I reread it at least once a year, which I know sounds obsessive, but if you love the book you will understand.
