Now that I’ve got your attention… I want to talk about books. Specifically, my own books (the ones I’ve written, not the ones in my TBR stack!). Self-promotion is a very difficult thing for indie authors to do, without having a lot of time and money to invest in marketing. The book world is super-competitive and it’s an extremely uphill battle for indie authors in particular to persuade readers to try their books when there are thousands and thousands released every year from all kinds of authors and publishers, with so many formats and outlets too. Not to mention all the AI-generated ‘books’ being churned out. I should shout a bit more about my own books, but there is a fine line between promoting your work often, and coming across as pushy so that people will mute you on their social media.
Anyway, I’m trying to do more self-promotion, having joined Threads (a simple process because I was already on Instagram), resurrected Mastodon (not that many people seem to be on there still), checked in on Bluesky more often, and now writing this blog post.

A reminder that my books (excepting the newest) are currently available to download on Itch.io for anyone who doesn’t use Amazon.
Details and links to my books are on my Writing page.
Please do check out my books on Goodreads and add them to your ‘want to read’ list.
Finally, it would be fantastic to have more ratings and reviews. Please take the time to do this – every little helps!
