Let’s go read a book: a poem

Weather’s bad, the news is bleak,
It’s been a bloody awful week,
So fed up you can barely speak…
Let’s go read a book.

Every day is Groundhog Day,
Things are really not okay,
Wishing you were far away…
Let’s go read a book.

The situation is extremely severe,
Sadness, worry, paranoia, fear,
Apocolypse is surely here…
Let’s go read a book.

    1. Thanks! ha ha. I am reading more books than usual (got through 10 this month I think!) due to being at home all the time.

  1. I love the rhythm, the rhyme, and I agree wholeheartedly with the message! Thank you for sharing this lovely poem with us.

    1. Thanks so much for your kind comment 🙂 It was a random idea I had and it was going around my head for a while before I wrote it down.

  2. Love your poem! It says it all and made me smile (and nod my head). Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks! 🙂 I meant ‘you’ in the sense of ‘I’ – I’m not addressing another person. If you see what I mean.
