I enjoyed this autobiography from Martyn Ware of The Human League, Heaven 17, BEF and music producer fame. The best thing about it was the enthusiasm for electronic music and the explanations of how he put together music before the digital age. The book covers his early years, from a working-class family in Sheffield and how he got into music, until the 90s, although bits of recent times are thrown in too. However, I doubt that it needed to be in two volumes. If volume one had less padding (snips from Wikipedia, ramblings about football, contributions from people he worked with saying how great he is, etc) and did not keep mentioning the need for a second volume and what would be in said volume… it could all fit in one book.
Recommended to fans of electronic music and people with an interest in the Sheffield music scene.
