My favourite reads in 2019

2019 was an interesting year of reading. Not only did I complete 125 books (and abandon dozens of them after chapter one), I have reviewed 106 on the blog. I also celebrated my first blog birthday.

Here are 10 of my favourite reads in 2019 (not necessarily published that same year):

Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

The Light Keeper by Cole Moreton

XX by Angela Chadwick

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson

Critical by Matt Morgan

Pan’s Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke

The Library Book by Susan Orlean – currently my most viewed post ever!

Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky

Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell

I really need to get my life together and read A Monster Calls, I’ve had it on my shelf for ages and so many people have told me it’s amazing!

Oh yes, please read it! It took me ages to get around to it, but I was glad.

I didn’t put too much thought into choosing a top 10, it was easy 🙂 Pan’s Labyrinth was a special read which I had an e-arc for. Thanks Jee, this is going to be a great year for books I’m sure, and I wish you a happy new year filled with joy and books ♥

Thanks! I appreciate you catching up with all my posts 😉
Those books do seem to be very popular. The Light Keeper is well worth checking out, I wouldn’t even have known about it but I was sent a surprise ARC. The Library Book is a must read, Pan’s Labyrinth too 🙂

I was really impressed by the book. My cats like all books, especially library books (which this one is).
