Skim the sentences unhappily
Hammering the backspace key
Can’t decide which words to choose
… I’ve got the editing blues.

My writing is pathetically bad
The number of adverbs is just sad
Off to buy some bargain booze
… I’ve got the editing blues.

Gonna trash the whole damn book
It’s a load of gobbledegook
Someone please locate my muse
… I’ve got the editing blues.

I’m currently editing book number 2 – currently known as ‘Untitled Novel’. Authors who say that editing is harder than writing the first draft are absolutely right!
