I’ve never been a fan of Wuthering Heights. I’ve read it a few times, however, the last of these being in 2007 as an introductory text for my literature degree. I find the story and characters to be unappealing and cruel. It’s powerful, atmospheric and an amazing achievement for ‘Ellis Bell’ (her pseudonym upon publication), so I’ll say I appreciate the importance of this classic but I don’t like the experience of reading it. I’m 99% certain I will never re-read it again.
